About me

Some people want to travel after college. I wanted to start an iPhone app business. I studied Electrical Engineering at McGill University but realized that I was more interested in web and mobile software development.

I started making iPhone apps in July of 2009. I currently have two available in the App Store: ThoughtPad and Sunburst Fly. I’ve also done Ruby on Rails work professionally and continue to make things with it.

You can follow me on Twitter.

About the blog

This blog is about building a small software business. You could also call it a mISV (“micro-independent software vendor”) as Patrick McKenzie does too.

I use the word athletic because I’m inspired by sports.

I plan on sharing lessons that I learn while building Steamwheel, my iPhone App business. Topics will include things like design and inspiration. There’s tons of great programming references on the web so I won’t be covering anything too technical besides maybe linking to some of my favorite resources.

This isn’t a how to. I don’t claim to be successful nor do I know how to do this. I simply want to share what I learn as I go through this process.

Thanks to Matthew Kempster for creating the Orangific theme and to Tumblr for providing the blogging platform. You can subscribe by RSS.
